This can save you hours of driving nearby finding for the best spot to start your adventure. If you settle not to hire a fly fishing guide the make sure to Visit the local Dnr and other web sites to get some fishing maps, location suggestions and local fishing regulations. Don't expect the local fisherman to give up their sweet spots though.

Getting A License for your trip. - Every state that you visit has separate fishing regulations and licensing law so make sure to check these costs before you go. In addition verify all the trout and salmon regulations for your superior fly-fishing vacation destination. Often times there are manifold restrictions on where, when, and how you can take fish from a river, stream or lake. The last thing you want to do is spend your fly fishing vacation in jail.

I personally tend to find local campgrounds when I go on fly fishing excursions to help keep the cost of the trip down. If you plan on taking someone that is pampered a quality fly fishing lodge or similar type fishing resort might be in order. You don't want to spoil your fly-fishing vacation with someone whining about the accommodations. What type of gear will you need? This will all depend upon the type of fly fishing your planning on doing and where you settle to go. If you pick to go with a fishing guide, luxury fly fishing lodge or other resort fishing vacation, the fly fishing gear may be provided for you. If not make sure you have all the essential tool before booking your trip.
