Here are two of my popular St. Patrick's Day activities. The first is for younger students and the second is for slightly older students. Some of the supplies you will probably have to bring from home, but they aren't expensive and should be effortlessly available. The rest of them should be regular educator supplies that are effortlessly ready among your other school supplies. I hope you enjoy doing these with your students as much as I do.

How is St. Patrick's Day Activities

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Map Of Pennsylvania.

The best way to start off these activities is to talk a bit with your students about the legends behind St. Patrick's Day. This can be a fun and non-religious topic. For example: read them a story about the leprechauns who find gold at the end of the rainbow. Tell them that it has come to be a superstition that seeing a four-leaf clover in a clover patch will bring good luck. Tell them about St. Patrick driving all of the snakes out of Ireland. (There admittedly are no snakes in Ireland!).

Now, let the fun activities begin!

Making St. Patrick's Day snacks:

Let the children make their own (green, of course) snacks! This operation is fun and easy:

Bring in sugar cookies or cupcakes for the children's snacks.

Bring in white icing and a tiny bottle of green food coloring.

Let the children mix the icing with the food coloring to make green icing for their cupcakes or cookies. Suggestion: you may want to give the children diminutive cups or bowls for this so they can mix their own icing-or group them into small groups or pairs to share with their peers. (This will not be a St. Patrick's Day operation that all the students can get involved in at first if you do not split up the icing into smaller portions.)

Let the students decorate their cookies or cupcakes all by themselves. Have green sprinkles or even clover-shaped sprinkles for them to put on top.

Have a gallon of green milk prepared. Give children each a cup of green milk to drink with their snacks.

Make a St. Patrick's Day Potato Face:

In this easy project, a brown paper grocery bag and construction paper are made into a cute potato head.

You will need:

A brown paper grocery bag (or brown construction paper)
Various colors of construction paper
Scissors
pencils
Glue

Have the children cut out a potato shape, using the brown paper bag (or brown construction paper). The potato shape must be at least as big as your hand, otherwise it will be too hard to glue the facial features on it.

Have your students cut out the eyes (the whites plus the pupils), as well as a nose, mouth, hair, bowtie, green top hat, and any other desired features.

Glue the features onto the brown paper potato head.

You now have a potato face to help you celebrate the holiday. This is one of my popular St. Patrick's Day activities for older children.
